“Global trends” in pesticide usage

Global pesticide use, as calculated by the World Health Organization’s “Public Health Service/World Heanatyasastra.comlth Organization’s Collaboration on Environmental Pollutants”, is projected to increase in most countries as global population and climate change become more severe.

The WHO says this trend will accelerate as crop yields from crop biotechnology rise with population 바카라사이트growth and the need for improved quality of life in developing countries as well as to reduce greenhouse gases that contribute to global climate change.

In 2015, worldwide, about 6.4 million metric tonnes of synthetic pesticides were sold to human use for industrial uses, representing 40% of the global total.

The largest number of used drugs are insecticides, pesticides that are widely used in agriculture. The largest used insecticides – including three main categories, dicamba, permethrin and pyrethroid – are used in food and food-processing plants for insect control of pests and diseases, but also for control of livestock in livestock pens.

In 2016, total used insecticides in China totaled 21,848 metric tons.

The second largest market in China is the US. The US has more pesticides used for non-food use as pesticides than any other country.
